Our Helene Story
On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene swept through our town, leaving behind damage, disruption, and heartache. The storm left its mark, not just on our walls, but on the very heart of our community.
We were closed for exactly 11 months. It was a time filled with challenges, but also with strength, courage, and purpose. It was a time of healing and learning what it means to truly come together. Though the storm took away our familiar comfort, it couldn’t take away our drive. We knew we had to build back better, not just for ourselves, but for our guests, staff, and community.
What you see around you today is more than just a restaurant. It’s a symbol of resilience, community, and unwavering support.

During the recovery, we were honored to be the meeting place for hundreds of volunteers who poured in from near and far to help our community heal and rebuild. Volunteers filled our kitchen, preparing three meals a day, and our restaurant became more than a place to eat. It was a space for fellowship, laughter, connection, and shared purpose - all working together with one goal in mind - to rebuild and restore.
At the heart of this effort was Spokes of Hope, the driving force behind the restoration of Chimney Rock Village. Their unwavering dedication, along with the thousands of volunteers they coordinated, including the Amish community who selflessly worked side by side with us, took what once seemed impossible and turned it into reality. We are profoundly grateful for their leadership, for transforming vision into action, and for uniting so many to restore our community with such compassion and determination.
August 27, 2025 … We reopened our doors.
None of this would have been possible without the love, labor, and kindness of every person who showed up. Your time, your hands, and your hearts are what made it possible for us to reopen and serve you again.
